Qnexa Diet Drug

A new diet drug could be about to released. Qnexa is undergoing preliminary tests by the the FDA (Food and Drugs Administration)

Qnexa combines two drugs: Phentermine (also known as fen Phen), an amphetamine drug, and an anticonvulsant called Topiramate.

Some common known side effects of this experimental drug is loss of memory and the ability to concentrate.

The drug is designed to hopefully combat obesity by addressing the main factors, namely, appetite (suppressing) and satiety – the two main mechanisms that impact eating behavior.

The full strength diet pill consists of 15mg of Phentermine and 92mg of Topiramate. Medium strength variations are 7.5mg of Phentermine and 46mg of Topiramate and the lowest dosage that could possibly formulated is 3.75mg of Phentermine and 23mg of Topiramate.

Qnexa is now approved by he FDA and is being marketed under a change of brand name

Qnexa when or if it is released will be prescription only.

Qnexa could be available by the end of 2010 when or if it gains approval from the FDA
